The lakeside tennis court seemed to float, which was beautiful in theory but proved problematic in practice; after one too many balls vanished without a trace, Craig and I went out to explore the property, our first stop being the gallery in the converted dairy. Numerous sculptures can be seen around the property, including Vénus de l'Étang by Chinese artist Wang Keping, carved from a century-old red oak, and Ugo Rondinone's terrifying Sun, formed from tree branches cast in bronze. The property's owner, Garance Primat, is a real fan of art.
